A one off event so early booking is recommended - what could be better than gorgeous tapas, great wine, cooking over fire and a beautiful view over the rolling East Devon countryside.

High Grange are massive fans of Spanish food - for them, a pre-children treat used to be long weekends in San Sebastian for pinchos grazing, sherry supping and Sideria visiting. They were delighted to meet Ed and Giselle from Strawberry Tree in the heart of Lyme's Town Mill.

As you arrive at High Grange in glorious Summer sunshine (!?) you will be met with a glass of Cava and the smell of woodsmoke. You are welcome to wander through their beautiful woodland and gardens until we begin a Tapas masterclass. Luke used to compere the demo kitchen at Borough Market so we'll do it in a similar style with Luke and Giselle prepping and serving tapas whilst ruminating about all things cooking and hospitality - there will be lots of tasters and plenty of opportunity to ask questions to both chefs. We’ll send you off to harvest some of the veg that we'll be using and even collect your own eggs from our HG chickens.

11am - Tapas Masterclass & Tasting

In the High Grange outdoor kitchen, Giselle & Luke will lead you through cooking, tasting and discussing at least three tapas, including:

-   Pan con tomate

-   Jamón croquetas

-   Grilled squid / cuttlefish

12.30pm - Paella Lunch
After the masterclass there will be a 30 minute interlude to relax with a drink, enjoy our outdoor kitchen and garden, and generally relax before sitting down to lunch around our great oak communal feasting table.

Chicken / Rabbit paella or Spring vegetable paella


Dessert will be a take on the classic Tarta de Santiago

About High Grange


High Grange is a family-run business in the rolling hills of East Devon, run by Sara and husband Luke, a chef and wine merchant with over 20 years experience of cooking and teaching.

They have a large outdoor cookery school with fire pits, pizza oven, Ofyr, and every type of Big Green Egg. They offer Full and Half Day Fire Schools where you can learn the full gamut of British outdoor cooking.

They also have an indoor and outdoor woodland dining area for supper clubs and lunches, serviced by our chickens and vegetable patch.

Finally, our Shippen outbuilding offers wellness events and classes from yoga, pilates and reiki to sound baths and breathwork; and we also offer creative masterclasses covering everything from dried flower arranging to growing your own vegetables.
