Our classes are hands-on. Learning by 'doing' is a great way to master tips and tricks as we share all about the food, family recipes and cultural backgrounds of the dishes we create. Some classes include sharing lunch together, sampling what we've produced.
Giselle is a natural when it comes to sharing her love of and skill with food. Sharing the rich cultural histories and personal associations with the food at hand. Come away inspired and reconnected to the joy of cooking and sharing - and maybe with some new friends, too.
Our classes are not formulaic 'how-to-cook' type classes - they are enjoyable, memorable and delicious experiences that take us to faraway shores via a shared love of food.
With a 1,000 year old mill beside us we are collaborating to offer special classes which include a guided tour of the historic mill, connecting us to ways of old and the process, time and tradition that lies behind our most loved meals.
You will be able to take home all of your creations. With the exception of the classes which include lunch - if there's any leftovers! If you are able to - we ask that you please bring with you some containers for taking food away with you. No problem if you're unable to bring this with you - we can provide you with eco-friendly takeaway containers.
Along with the edible goodies you created you will receive a recipe pack and coffee/tea on arrival. Classes that include a tour of the Town Mill will include 1kg of organic flour.
Putting different olives, olive oils, cured ham, charcuterie, sherries, wines and vinegars together and tasting them against each other is always a fascinating exercise. It highlights the varying flavour profiles between different producers, products, production methods, regions, varieties and more! And of course usually delicious to boot.
If you're staying around for the evening or arrive the day before, why not book a table at our restaurant to experience more branches of Strawberry Tree.

Strawberry Tree sits within Lyme Regis Town Mill's restored courtyard, home to many craftsmen, women and independent businesses. As well as a fully restored 12th Century (and possibly earlier) working water wheel, here you can visit a silversmith, potter, dressmaker, the Malthouse art gallery, Molesworth & Bird seaweed prints and a micro-brewery. Within walking distance to the beach, Coombe Street and the main high street we're in an ideal location to enjoy the rest of the town's liveliness and coastal beauty for the afternoon.
If you're staying around for the evening or arrive the day before, you could book a table at our restaurant to experience more branches of Strawberry Tree.
