In this tapas class, learn how to create five crowd-pleasing, soul food tapas dishes.

Experience

First, you might be wondering - what is tapas? Tapas is a very fun and informal way of eating in Spain. It consists of a series of small dishes, usually shared around the table, and does not have the structure of a normal meal (like a starter or main course), but is more about grazing and chatting with friends. It's a fun way to socialise and share food.  Create wonderful connection and food-sharing memories with your friends and family with these knock-out tapas recipes.

11am - 1pm. Cooking class

Together we will make:

  • Croquetas - a labour of love, these deep-fried little balls of joy come in many flavours
  • Fish 'albóndigas' in a rich almond sauce - delicate balls of minced fish in an almond sauce - as Moorish as it comes
  • Salmorejo - our favourite cold soup. Ideal for lunch any day and easy to make - when you know how.

1pm - 1.10pm. Break

Time for a glass of wine or a beer on us! Rest and/or explore the Town Mill area and all that is has to offer

1.10pm - 1.30pm. Demo class

Bring your wine back to the classroom and settle down while Giselle demonstrates:

  • Mussels 'Escabeche' - learn the secrets of the escabeche marinade - a tapa found in every bar, from Ferrol to Cádiz.
  • Russian salad - a staple on any Spanish table - although the recipe varies from household to household

1.30 - 2.30pm, Lunch

It's time to eat!  Enjoy the dishes you have created with a communal tapas lunch. Anything left over, you will take home with you!

*A note about the discounted price for two people - this discount simply reflects two people sharing a workstation and the cooking tasks and takeaway goodies – no arguing, please!
